The Best Home Upgrades To Increase Your Value

The Best Home Upgrades To Increase Your Value

Here are the top four home upgrades to boost your home’s value.

Which home upgrades will get you top dollar when it comes time to sell? Today I’ll share the best projects to consider if you want to maximize your home’s value:

1.
Paint. Of all the home improvements, painting will bring you the greatest return on your investment. For your interior walls, avoid bright or bold colors and stick with a more neutral color palette. Benjamin Moore’s Simply White is one of my favorite interior paint colors. For your exterior walls, shades of gray, white, and black are popular. I’d recommend driving around new construction homes to see what color trends they’re using. Additionally, add a pop of color to your home by painting your front door.

Flooring. Buyers these days are drawn to homes with uniform flooring. Engineered wide-plank flooring is also very popular right now, but if you’re not planning to stay in the house long term, it may not be the most cost-effective choice. Otherwise, consider waterproof vinyl flooring that looks like wide-plank flooring.

Planting flowers and shrubs, buying new mulching, and installing turf are great ways to liven up the outside of your home.

3. Kitchen. The kitchen is a very important room in the house to prospective buyers. One good idea is to consider painting your cabinets and replacing your hardware. Quartz countertops are in right now, and they’re not even that expensive. Additionally, changing out your old light fixtures for newer, more stylish ones is another cheap way to increase your home’s value

4.
Landscaping. Your landscaping is a huge portion of your home’s curb appeal. It’s vital to make a good first impression on buyers, so be sure to spruce it up. Planting flowers and shrubs, buying new mulching, and installing turf are great ways to liven up the outside of your home. Similarly, consider your hardscaping as well. Many hardscaping projects are more expensive than landscaping, but if you plan to live in your home for a while, it’s worth it.

These are just a few of the things you can do to increase the value of your house when you sell. If you’d like more recommendations on home improvements and upgrades or if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email. I’d love to help you.
